Smartiecoin Core v0.4.0 is live

The SMT economics fork is ready.

Smartiecoin (SMT) is preparing the approved v0.4.0 network fork at block 172,800: a 2-minute block target, lower daily emission, healthier masternode economics, and refreshed cross-platform wallet builds for the next era of the network.

Mandatory v0.4.0 Fork block 172,800 2-minute blocks Windows, Linux, macOS

Mandatory release spotlight

Smartiecoin Core v0.4.0

A protocol-level economics update: 2-minute blocks, lower daily emission, long-term tail emission, refreshed binaries, and safer startup behavior for the public node infrastructure.

02

2-Minute Block Target

The fork changes SMT from 60-second blocks to a 120-second target, slowing emission without resetting the network.

03

Healthier Emission

With half as many blocks per day, daily SMT emission drops roughly 50%, reducing sell pressure and stretching the reward schedule.

04

Systems Preserved

Masternodes, InstantSend, ChainLocks, shielded transaction support, legacy PrivateSend, governance, and CPU mining remain part of the same SMT core.

Project Snapshot

Core project facts taken from the SMT repository and docs.

CPU Mining Base

The codebase integrates yespower hashing in the PoW path, aligned with a CPU mining approach.

Optional Privacy

Shielded transaction support is active, with legacy CoinJoin and Tor onion service support (v3) still available.

Masternode Layer

Deterministic masternodes (ProTx) with official setup guides for Windows and CLI flows.

On-chain Issuance

Issuance and validation are coordinated by the peer-to-peer network and protocol consensus.

v0.4.0 Tokenomics

How the approved economics fork changes SMT emission timing without a coin swap or chain reset.

Core Parameters

  • Fork activation: block 172,800
  • Target block time after fork: 120 seconds
  • Daily emission effect: roughly 50% fewer block rewards per day
  • Halving interval: 1,000,000 blocks
  • Tail emission floor: halvings stop at 1 SMT per block

v0.4.0 does not reset balances. It changes the future timing of rewards by slowing the block target while preserving the SMT chain and network services.

Why the Fork Matters

Same chain, slower emission:

1-minute blocks → 2-minute blocks

~1,440 blocks/day → ~720 blocks/day

Same services, fewer new coins per day

Lower ROI pressure over time

InstantSend keeps user transactions fast while the base chain moves to a more sustainable long-term reward pace.

Long-Term Emission Schedule

Block Range Approx. Years Reward / Block Circulating Supply Target
1M~3.850 SMT50,000,000 SMT
2M~7.625 SMT75,000,000 SMT
3M~11.412.5 SMT87,500,000 SMT
4M~15.26.25 SMT93,750,000 SMT
5M~19.03.125 SMT96,875,000 SMT
6M~22.81.5625 SMT98,437,500 SMT
7M+~26.6+1 SMT tailLong-term tail emission

The published schedule is calculated with governance superblocks included. Without approved superblocks, effective emission is lower because unpaid governance coins are not created.

Governance Superblocks

10% of the block subsidy is reserved for community governance. These coins are only created in superblocks when funding proposals are approved by masternode vote. This is not a dev fee.

  • Governance reserve: 10% of every block subsidy
  • Superblock cycle: 21,600 blocks (~15 days before the fork, ~30 days after 2-minute blocks)
  • Proposal cost: 5 SMT (anti-spam)
  • No approved proposals? Coins are never created, reducing effective emission

Anyone can submit a funding proposal for development, infrastructure, marketing, or community initiatives. Masternode operators vote to approve or reject it. Approved proposals are paid automatically by the network in the next superblock. No individual or team has control over these funds — it is fully decentralized.

Why Rewards Change Over Time

SMT now uses three timing layers:

  • Fork clock: v0.4.0 activates the new timing at block 172,800.
  • Block clock: 2-minute blocks reduce daily emission.
  • Halving clock: subsidy continues down toward the 1 SMT tail emission floor.

This keeps SMT alive long-term while reducing daily inflation pressure now.

Concrete Fork Effects

  • Before fork: roughly 1,440 blocks per day at a 60-second target
  • After fork: roughly 720 blocks per day at a 120-second target
  • Users: InstantSend still provides fast transaction experience
  • Network: lower daily emission and healthier masternode ROI pressure

Existing wallets, balances, masternodes, and services remain on the same chain. Everyone simply needs to update before activation.

SMT Architecture

Full-featured blockchain with instant transactions, privacy, governance, and masternode infrastructure.

1. PoW Layer (Yespower)

CPU-first yespower mining. v0.4.0 moves the network toward 2-minute blocks for lower daily emission and longer-term sustainability.

2. InstantSend + ChainLocks

Transactions locked in 2-3 seconds via LLMQ quorums. ChainLocks prevent 51% attacks and block reorganizations.

3. Masternodes (ProTx)

Deterministic masternodes with BLS signatures, operator/owner separation, and automatic PoSe monitoring. Easy setup with Plug & Play Wizard.

4. Shielded TX + Legacy PrivateSend

Transparent addresses remain supported while shielded transaction tooling, legacy CoinJoin mixing, and optional Tor v3 remain available.

5. On-Chain Governance

Masternode operators vote on budget proposals. Approved proposals are funded automatically via superblock payouts every 21,600 blocks.

6. LLMQ Quorums

Long-Living Masternode Quorums power InstantSend, ChainLocks, and governance. Currently using LLMQ_10_60 and LLMQ_10_75 (rotated).

Current Status

SMT is a secondary coin integrated with the Ethernova ecosystem. The network is active with CPU mining, InstantSend, ChainLocks, shielded transaction tooling, legacy PrivateSend, masternodes, on-chain governance, and the v0.4.0 economics fork.
